Position Summary

The Business Services Assistant Manager leads the daily operations of the Business Services department. This role helps ensure exceptional client service, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and effective team performance across all Treasury Management products and services, including ACH Origination, Wire Transfers, Positive Pay, Remote Deposit Capture (RDC), Business Online Banking, Business Bill Pay, Business Mobile Deposit, Account Reconciliation, and Zelle for Business.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead with the day-to-day management and supervision of Business Services staff.
  • Provide coaching, leadership, guidance, and performance feedback to department associates.
  • Participates in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees.
  • Monitor staff productivity, workload distribution, and service level performance.
  • Responsible for employee development through coaching, mentoring, cross-training, and career development opportunities.
  • Responsible for performance evaluations, employee goal setting, and corrective action plans when needed.
  • Promote a positive team culture focused on accountability, professionalism & exceptional client service    

Client Experience & Relationship Management

  • Ensure delivery of a high-quality service experience for business banking clients and internal partners.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex client issues, complaints, and service requests.
  • Partner with Private Banking Officers, Platinum Services Division, Labor & Trust, and other departments to resolve client concerns.
  • Monitor client service trends and identify opportunities to improve the overall client experience.
  • Support client onboarding activities and ensure successful implementation of Treasury Management services.
  • Assist in managing high-value and complex client relationships requiring enhanced support and oversight.

Treasury Management Operations

  • Assist in overseeing daily Treasury Management operations, including new service requests, maintenance, client support, and fulfillment activities.
  • Monitor department queues, service requests, and production metrics to ensure established service levels are achieved.
  • Review complex Treasury Management service setups and maintenance requests for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support operational oversight of ACH, Wire Transfers, Positive Pay, RDC, Business Online Banking, Business Bill Pay, Business Mobile Deposit, and Zelle for Business.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to identify workflow efficiencies and operational improvements.
  • Participate in system upgrades, implementations, and departmental projects impacting Treasury Management services.

Training and Development

  • Facilitate departmental training initiatives, ongoing employee development programs, team meetings, training sessions, and operational updates.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and develop training plans to strengthen staff competencies.
  • Ensure associates remain current on Treasury Management products, procedures, regulatory requirements, and system enhancements.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management to support departmental operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 4+ years of management, customer service, and back-end client support in a banking environment or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, training experience, understanding of goal setting and staff development practices preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of small business deposit, online banking and Treasury Management products preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to de-escalate difficult client interactions and support employee relations.
  • Knowledge of banking regulatory and compliance requirements preferred.
  • Excellent listening and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lift at least 20 lbs when required.
  • Proficient with Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Adequate vision and hearing to interact effectively with clients both in person and over the phone.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication required.
  • Consistently maintains a professional appearance.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • This position requires 100% on-site at the Fremont Bank operations center in Livermore, California.
  • Travel may be required in our footprint.
  • May require working weekends.

Salary Range

The hiring salary range is based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and internal equity. Compensation decisions are made in consideration of these factors and in alignment with Fremont Bank’s compensation philosophy.

Salary Range

USD $87,500.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.
